Bike Pooling in Lucknow: Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj and Beyond

Lucknow runs on two wheels. The city has one Metro line, running from the airport through Alambagh and Hazratganj to Munshipulia, and Gomti Nagar, where many of the offices are, is not on it. So people ride.

Stand at any crossing on the way to Vibhuti Khand in the morning and count the pillion seats going empty.

Where bike pooling works in Lucknow

  • Aliganj and Jankipuram to Gomti Nagar. Across the river at the same hour every day.
  • Indira Nagar to Vibhuti Khand and Hazratganj.
  • Alambagh to Hazratganj and the old city offices.
  • Gomti Nagar to the IT City on Sultanpur Road along Shaheed Path.
  • The city to Amausi and Chinhat for people on industrial shifts.

What it costs

The rider sets a share of the petrol, shown before you book. An example:

  • A 20 km round trip on a 110cc scooter uses about 0.44 litres. Owners of popular scooters report around 45–47 km a litre in city traffic, and commuter motorcycles often do better.
  • With petrol in Lucknow at ₹101.86 a litre, that is about ₹45 a day.
  • Over 22 working days, ₹990 a month.
  • Shared between rider and pillion, ₹495 each.

Riding safely

Both rider and pillion must wear a helmet under Indian law. Riders on ZoinZo note whether they carry a spare one, so check before you book or bring your own.

You see the rider's name, photo, vehicle and ratings before you ride, and you can chat in the app first. Women can choose Pink Rides, offered and booked only by women.

How to find a bike pool in Lucknow

You can also see the rides open in Lucknow right now.

1. Search ZoinZo from your area to your office, for example Aliganj to Gomti Nagar.

2. Look at the riders going that way and when they leave.

3. Request the pillion seat and chat before you go.

4. Pay your share directly over UPI or cash. ZoinZo takes no cut.

Tips for a smooth bike pool in Lucknow

  • Meet on the rider's way, at a crossing or a Metro station gate, not inside a lane.
  • Dress for the season. Winter mornings are cold and foggy in December and January, and July to September brings rain.
  • Carry your own helmet if you can, so the ride never depends on a spare.
  • Say hello in the app first, so pickup takes a few seconds.

Already riding to work? Offer your seat

If you ride from Aliganj, Indira Nagar or Alambagh to work every day, your pillion seat can pay for part of your petrol. Post the route once on ZoinZo and set it to repeat every weekday. You see each person's profile and ratings before you accept.
